TDF drug powder is only mixed with soft foods, because it should be swallowed without chewing. It's best not to mix TDF powder with liquid as the drug powder may not mix well.

Tenofovir Side Effects and Overdose Cases

The following are the side effects that patients might experience during their treatment with TDF drug.

Major side effects may manifest as:

• diarrhea;
• asthenia;
• pain;
• nausea.

Mild to moderate side effects:

• rash;
• headache;
• flatulence;
• vomiting;
• dyspepsia;
• depression;
• increased transaminases;
• anorexia;
• neutropenia;
• peripheral neuropathy;
• myalgia;
• abdominal pain.

• hepatitis C antiviral agents including the combination of sofosbuvir (Sovaldi and its generics) with velpatasvir + voxilaprevir or in a mixture of only velpatasvir or ledipasvir and a lot more.

Do not use TDF with any other medicines with the same active ingredient such as Atripla, Telura, Complera, and Truvada – these drugs increase the quantity of TDF in your body, leading to overdose.
